Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Match Point website and platform ("Match Point", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, registering for an event, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use Match Point. Event organisers may also require you to accept additional event-specific terms during registration.

1. What Match Point provides

Match Point is a software platform that helps event organisers publish events and manage registrations, payments, athletes, brackets, scoring, and related competition tools. Competitors, parents/guardians, coaches, and organisers use the platform for those purposes.

We do not organise sporting events ourselves unless we expressly say so for a particular event. Each organiser is responsible for their event, rules, eligibility, safety, and refunds.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • You must be old enough under applicable law to create an account. If you register a competitor under 16, you must provide parent/guardian details as required on the registration form.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, create risk to others, or are used for unlawful or abusive activity.

3. Registrations and event rules

  • Registration details, pricing, categories, capacity, and eligibility are set by the event organiser.
  • You must accept any required event terms shown during registration.
  • A paid registration is typically confirmed only after successful payment, or after an offline method (such as bank transfer) is submitted according to the organiser's instructions.
  • Changes, withdrawals, and refunds are controlled by the organiser and any event-specific terms they publish.

4. Payments

Online card payments are processed by Stripe. Match Point may also support offline methods (such as bank transfer or manual recording) where the organiser enables them.

Fees, taxes, and payout arrangements for organisers are as configured in their organisation settings and payment provider account. You authorise charges for the amounts shown at checkout for the registrations you submit.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading registration or account information.
  • Attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the service, or reverse engineer the platform except as allowed by law.
  • Use Match Point for unlawful purposes, harassment, or to upload harmful content.
  • Circumvent payment, capacity, or security controls.

6. Intellectual property

Match Point (including software, branding, and documentation) remains our property or that of our licensors. Organisers and users retain ownership of content they submit, and grant us a licence to host and display that content as needed to operate the platform and the relevant event.

7. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Match Point you acknowledge that policy.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep Match Point available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Match Point is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
  • We are not responsible for event organisation, venue safety, sporting outcomes, or disputes between participants and organisers.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from use of the platform.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Where our liability can be limited, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us for the relevant service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) £100.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may also bring claims in their local courts where mandatory consumer law allows.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. If you continue to use Match Point after an update, you accept the revised Terms.

12. Contact

Questions about these Terms: contact the platform operator using the support details provided with your account or organisation.
